Group accuses named W’well man of drug dealing and anti social activity

Man threatened in ONH letter

Dissident republican group Óglaigh na hÉireann has issued a threat against a Whitewell man saying he has 24 hours to leave the district because of alleged drug dealing. The threat, which was issued in a letter distributed in the area last night (Wednesday), accuses the man, who is believed to be aged in his 40s, of drug dealing and antisocial behaviour.

The letter says the named man, whose address is also printed in the letter, has been issued with previous requests from individuals within the area to bring an end to his activities

“The Óglaigh na hÉireann is bringing to the attention of the community the activity of (named man) of (address),” reads the letter.

“(Name) has for years been involved in drug dealing, anti-social behaviour and is a menace to the community, bringing heartache, annoyance and distress to the local population.

“After failing to take notice of numerous requests from the local community, individuals and groups to stop his criminal activity and desist from it in the future, the local community now finds (name)’s continuing presence in the area totally unacceptable and untenable.

“The Óglaigh na hÉireann is giving (name) 24 hours to leave the district. Failure to comply with this order will result in him facing the consequences of his actions. The Óglaigh na hÉireann takes this opportunity to reiterate its position that this type of antisocial activity and criminality will not be tolerated within nationalist areas and will be dealt with in a most serious manner.”
