Albion Star YFC -- Doyle YFC

T his was a fixture that was well anticipated by Albion Star who took on rivals Doyle YFC at the Shaftesbury Recreation Centre.

The game was played over three periods of 15 minutes duration with both teams fielding seven players.

The game kicked off with both teams starting brightly although Albion Star had the edge.

It was no shock when Albion took the lead with a fantastic finish on the break.

After the interval Albion Star continued their fine form from the first period and were rewarded when Luca Morelli broke through the Doyle defence to double Albion Star’s lead.

Albion Star’s celebrations were instantly cut short when the right winger from Doyle powered home a great free-kick past Connor McCarthy in the Albion Star goal.

The second period of this game couldn’t have been any better for Albion Star as Luca Morelli restored Albion Star’s two-goal lead with a great finish.

In the last third of the game the football began to slow up with both teams beginning to look tired.
