A GROUP of South Belfast residents took a trip down memory lane on a day trip organised by Translink and Graham Construction.
Those living close to the transport operator’s Adelaide train maintenance facility construction site were invited to visit the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum in Cultra for a taste of a bygone era in local transport.
Communications Manager at Translink, Lynda Shannon, said: “We want to thank local residents for their support and patience as we continue to build our new train maintenance facility.
“This trip was an opportunity to enjoy the museum’s attractions and view first-hand vehicles that were used in years gone by – a world away from the modern buses and trains we use today. We continue to work closely with Graham Construction to deliver this construction project on schedule and co-operation from local residents has been essential during this process.”
Community Liaison Officer from Graham Construction, Nuala Griffiths, said: “We were delighted to further our engagement with local residents, allowing them to experience first-hand the changes the transport industry has gone through over the years. It was a privilege to be a part of this memorable trip and we will continue to build on and develop the relationships we have formed to date on this project.”
