£10,000 cocaine seizure claim

By Francesca Ryan

Community activists have recovered at least £10,000 worth of a Class A drugs from what the Irish Republican Socialist Party referred to as “a well-known West Belfast criminal family”. The uncut cocaine was recovered from the criminals, said to be “armed and the main importers and distributers of cocaine and heroin throughout West Belfast and beyond”, on Tuesday night, it’s claimed. It was later handed over to the IRSP who passed it on to local clergy for safe disposal.

“This large seizure of drugs was uncovered in the mid-Falls area yesterday (Tuesday) and we are grateful that this death drug is now off our streets, and out of the reach of our children,” said IRSP representative Gerard Foster

“The community activists came to the IRSP seeking assistance in order to dispose of these drugs in a safe manner, and also because they, like many, in our community do not trust the PSNI, due to their continued use of drug dealers as informers against this community.”

Mr Foster said the IRSP will continue to support anyone striving for a safer community

“We are not prepared as an organisation to sit back and allow these gangs and thugs to poison our young people, and destroy the proud community of the Falls Road,” he added.  “These death dealers need to stop now and must be driven from our community once and for all.”
