A North Belfast woman has organised a tribute night to Wee Oscar Knox to commemorate the tot and raise much needed cash for the Children’s Hospice.
Serpentine woman Nichola Perry said the shop in which she works on the Falls always had a nominated charity and over the last two years that had been the Oscar fund.
“I work for a bookmakers and in each shop we would pick a charity and do wee things throughout the year to raise money and our chosen charity is the Children’s Hospice.
“We decided this year to raise money for the Children’s Hospice because with me being from Glengormley and seeing Oscar and the work the Hospice are doing, as a tribute to him we decided to organise the charity night.
“He left such a legacy we thought it would be a nice thing to do.
“Jackie Fullerton has agreed to do compere, and Carl Frampton will dontate the boots he is going to wear at his world title fight in September for a raffle.
“The music will be by a Rat Pack tribute band, and local bandsVocal Zone and Avalon.”
