TennEnt’s Vital, which rocked the Boucher Road playing fields in South Belfast, is set to return in 2013. The two-day event saw big name acts the Foo Fighters and the Stone Roses draw thousands of fans to the outdoor show, and organisers praised fans, Belfast City Council and the PSNI for helping to make the concerts a roaring success.

Stars of hit TV shows ‘The Inbetweeners’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ were spotted enjoying the musical line-up, which also featured the Black Keys, Florence and the Machine, and the Cribs.

Speaking afterwards, Alison Duffy of Tennent’s NI said: “We are delighted with how well Tennent’s Vital 2012 has gone, it was a phenomenal line up and there were too many highlights to choose from.

“We had a great response to Tennent’s: Vital Act of Kindness with lots of happy customers and we are really pleased that we have been able to offer something new and unique to the festival experience. I’d just like to say a huge thank you to the crowd for making Tennent’s Vital 2012 a huge success and look forward to welcoming everyone next year for more of the same.”

Justin Green from promoters MCD added: “The crowd were absolutely brilliant and the artists loved performing in front of them. The event has had an extremely positive economic impact on the city, with not a hotel room to be had in Belfast. Our thanks go to the PSNI, Belfast City Council and all the artists and crew who worked so hard, but most of all to the 60,000 fans who yet again proved that Northern Ireland can host such a huge international event without incident.”
