Man threatened in ONH letter
Dissident republican group Óglaigh na hÉireann has issued a threat against a Whitewell man saying he has 24 hours to leave the district because of alleged drug dealing. The threat, which was issued in a letter distributed in the area last night (Wednesday), accuses the man, who is believed to be aged in his 40s, of drug dealing and antisocial behaviour.
Open invite to park life celebrations
Children from the Whitewell area were putting their artistic skills to good use this week designing a new welcome sign to their park which is due to be officially reopened tomorrow.
Tributes to Teresa
Tribute has been paid to a Whitewell woman who played a crucial role in the development of her local area following her death through illness last week. Teresa Knowles was on the board of the Greencastle Community Empowerment Partnership, which later became the groundbreaking cross community group Greater Whitewell Community Surgery.
Be nice to each other at charity Mr and Mrs
A charity night will be held in a North Belfast bar later this month in aid of a local suicide awareness charity.The Mr and Mrs competition at the Chester has been organised by local group Laura’s Legacy, set up in memory of Whitewell Road 22-year old Laura Hughes who took her own life in May 2008.
