THE Falls Park has been awarded a coveted Green Flag for the second year running.
Falls Park to take centre stage at Féile an Phobail
With less than a week to go until the official launch of Féile an Phobail 2012, the Andersonstown News can reveal some of the exciting acts that will be taking to the stage this summer. From August 1 to August 12, West Belfast will be awash with culture and entertainment and will become a veritable hive of activity as the country’s largest community festival gets under way.
Bloody Heroin kit was dumped in park
Parents are being urged to be vigilant after a bloody heroin kit was found next to a playground in the Falls Park. The drug paraphernalia – which included used needles, bloodied swabs and a metal spoon – was found behind the playpark on Tuesday morning by park rangers.
Gateways to success
There will be many straws in the wind to indicate when the benefits of peace have arrived in the working class communities of Belfast. A new stadium at Casement would certainly be one – hopefully the buffoons who regard Roger Casement as a ‘terrorist’ can hold their tongues when the opening rolls around in 2015 – and, indeed, a leisure centre easily accessible to the nationalists of North Belfast would be another.
You’ll soon be doing a work-out in Falls Park
FALLS Park is set to get its own outside gym in the New Year. The gym, which will be situated on the green area at the Falls Road entrance to the park, will include cross-trainers, modern sit-up benches and agility benches.
