Rossa and St John’s set to clash in Antrim SHC

WEST Belfast rivals St John’s and O’Donovan Rossa will clash in this summer’s Antrim Senior Hurling Championship following Monday night’s draw at the Dunsilly Hotel. In their centenary year, the Premier club will also face a Belfast derby in the Senior Football Championship after being pitted against St Brigid’s while North Belfast rivals Pearse’s and Ardoyne clash in the Junior Championship. Defending football champions Cargin face the winners of the preliminary round tie between Ahoghill and Creggan while St Gall’s await the winners of the clash between Portglenone and Glenavy. League winners Lámh Dhearg face Rossa or St Brigid’s and St John’s face either Ballymena or St Teresa’s. In the Intermediate Football Championship, Michael Davitt’s have been pitted against Aldergrove with Sarsfield’s taking on last year’s beaten finalist, Dunloy. St Paul’s have been paired against Moneyglass with Gort na Móna facing St Enda’s. In the Junior Football Championship, St Agnes’ face St Comgall’s, St Malachy’s take on St Patrick’s, O’Donnell’s play Glenravel while Mitchell’s await the winners of the derby tie between Pearse’s and Ardoyne. Senior hurling champions Cushendall begin the defence of their title against last year’s Intermediate champions Creggan while St Gall’s will face Loughgiel for the second year running. St Paul’s and St Enda’s clash in the Intermediate Hurling Championship with Sarsfield’s facing Glenariffe. Gort na Móna, meanwhile face last year’s Junior champions Rasharkin in the preliminary round. The draw for the U21 Football Championship was deferred until September.
