Three men and a woman have been charged in relation to a seizure of cannabis worth £330,000 in a North Belfast house.

The men, aged 23, 30 and 48 and the woman, aged 38, appeared in Belfast Magistrates Court on Saturday (May 3).

The accused, who are all foreign nationals, were remanded in custody to appear again at a later date.

A fifth woman, aged 56, was released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

They were arrested after the PSNI swooped on a house on Hughenden Avenue off the Cavehill Road.

Further related searches at Greenville Street and Evelyn Avenue uncovered another £60,000 and £20,000 worth of the drug.

Detective Inspector Andy Dunlop commented on the size of the consignment of drugs that had been recovered.

“The discovery of such a large factory containing cannabis plants valued in excess of £330,000 in the Hughenden Avenue area of the city is a major cause for concern.”
