A group of local dancers  travelled to a prestigious London stage school recently to take part in a week-long series of master classes taught by top industry professionals.

36 dancers from Crumlin’s Gillian Doogan School of Dance attended the West End Stage Summer School, the culmination of which was a performance in the West End.

The students also took part in ‘Flash Mobs’ (impromptu dance routines in public places) beside London’s famous landmarks including the London Eye, Westminster Bridge, Pall Mall, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square.  They also staged a flash mob performance at Gatwick Airport when catching their flight back to Belfast.

“I am so proud of all their achievements and hard work,” said dance school owner, Gillian Doogan.

“Next year we are planning on taking 50 students and I hope they have as much fun as we all had this year,” added Gillian.
