There were big celebrations at a North Belfast care home last week when one of their residents turned 100. Dorni Madill, who lived in Hazelwood Park off the Antrim Road until 2006, celebrated the milestone surrounded by loved ones at the Cairnmartin Court Care Home on the Ballygomartin Road.
The former milliner worked at Arnotts in Belfast and was married to York Street butcher Billy Madill.
Rev Percy Walker, a close friend of Dorni’s, said the birthday lady received a letter from a sporting legend from the North.
“Dorni is looking well and she was delighted to also receive a card from Mary Peters to mark her birthday.”
