Glenpark FC were back at home on Saturday at the Grove in what turned out to be a thrilling game with goals scored in the opening and closing seconds of the game.

Glenpark FC strikers Aidan McGarry and Stephen Turley took centre and within a couple of minutes winger Michael Kelly slipped through Stephen Turley and he tucked one home to put Glenpark FC ahead.

The next 45 minutes saw end-to-end football in a very evenly contested half.

After the break Glenpark FC immediately went on the attack when Kelly galloped past the visiting defence and struck low and hard into the bottom right hand corner. However, the St Paul’s keeper pulled off a wonder save to deny a two-goal lead for the Glenpark.

St Paul’s then had an attack from a goal kick when Glenpark FC defender Jimmy Conway slipped allowing the St Paul’s striker to level.

Five minutes after St Paul’s equalised a hefty challenge on Glenpark FC goalkeeper Darren Harper saw the decision go St Paul’s way with the resulting corner putting the visitors in front.

From the re-start Stephen Turley went on a solo run before striking a thunderous shot into the top right-hand corner.

The game still had goals to come and again a half-hearted pass saw St Paul’s capitalise.

Ciaran Mailey and Paul McAlinden were then introduced into the game and moments later a run from Kelly picked out McGarry, who then coolly chested it down to Stephen Turley who completed his hat-trick.

Sean Mervyn was then introduced and within moments he was brought down for a penalty.

Kelly’s spot kick was saved  but he buried the rebound.

Glepark FC thought they had bagged the three points in injury-time but St Paul’s managed to beat goalkeeper Darren Harper in the dying seconds.
