Donegal Celtic U18’s suffered their second defeat of the season against a well drilled Distillery team on Saturday.

Despite enjoying a good start to the game DC found themselves a goal down after eight minutes as sloppy defending allowed the Whites striker to score form close range.

DC equalised 10 minutes later with an exceptional striker from Aidan McAuley. The tricky midfielder got possession 20 yards out and drilled an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

This should have given DC the cue to drive forward, however they let the hosts dictate the play and went into the half time break 3-1 down.

The Wee Hoops started the second half with more purpose and took the game to Distillery.

They were awarded with a second goal on 60 minutes after great work from Aidan McAuley.

With the Whites defender trying to let the ball out, McAuley was able to gain possession and floated a left footed cross towards the near post which was converted by Daniel Magee.

On 70 minutes DC appeared to have scored a deserved equaliser when Joe Todd curled a free kick towards the near post which had the keeper scrambling across goal.

With the ball clearly over the line, the keeper pushed it back into play and remarkably the referee continued with play despite the DC protests.

Distillery were reduced to ten men on 75 minutes after a horrendous challenge on DC’s Colm Kelly but despite the player advantage the Wee Hoops couldn’t find an equaliser.  In the final minutes of the game, Distillery got a fourth to secure the points.

DC: Niall Largey, Niall Caldwell, Frankie Davidson, Aidan O’Neill, Colm Kelly, Matthew McNally, Aaron Crossan, Michael McGarrity, Daniel Magee, Aidan McAuley, Joe Todd, Conor Connolly, Stephen Bennett, Kevin Keenan, Gareth Walker, James McKeown.
