Deceased had been crunching tablets in his mouth, inquest hears
A young father of two who died after taking a cocktail of drugs including heroin was a regular user of drugs and a heavy drinker, his inquest heard this week. Paul Anthony Arbuckle was 25 when he died at a flat in the university area in April 2008, having injected heroin with a friend as well as ingesting codeine, diazepam and lorazepam.
Mast opposition gathers pace again
PROPOSED ‘upgrades’ to a mobile telephone mast in a South Belfast street have revived opposition to the structure a decade after it first caused controversy. The mast at the junction of Annadale Drive and Annadale Embankment is used by phone networks Orange and T-Mobile as part of their wider South Belfast coverage.
Increase in funds a boost to local community groups
SOUTH Belfast MLA Alex Maskey has said local community groups should take advantage of the Laganside Events Grant Scheme now that the money available to applicants has been increased.
